This is perfect. Everyone needs a you in their corner. I always try to consider that we’re all someone’s child and that if a mom carries a baby to term, no matter what happens after, that person is anointed with the commitment of that mom to bloom them. We know what that takes but we forget when it’s unpleasant and uncomfortable and unattractive.
“How can I help you? What do you need?” are how we fix it but there has to be more ‘we’.

I think about this subject often when wondering what happened to former temporary foster placements who were larger than me and my kids, and had a history of violence. So much heartbreak. As a new foster mom, and as a single parent of 2 kids and a blind cat, i work hard to identify my limits without going overboard.
